Hi there,

I've been scoping out the awesome posts on here for some time now, and thought it's about time I shared some of my past and present projects.

Kinda downed tools about 10 years about and I've finally got my mojo back for scale modelling. The fist lot of piccies are some past projects I've done

First up - Rebel X-Wing fighter

So for Christmas my elder brother gave me 2 Colonial Vipers. one MKII and one MKVI.

I'd already started a MKII earlier in the year, but lost interest due to other things taking priority. So here are a few WIP's and finished shots

Bare in mind, that the Viper is the first project I've done in around 10 years.
Had a few issues with the mould seems but working that out for the second MKII Viper.

The MKVII is currently in production with the principle build 75% done.

Critique and tips are always welcome.

On a side note, I'm trying to locate a decal sheet for William "Husker" Adama's MKII Viper....If any one can help pointing me in the right direction I would be most grateful.

Enjoy!!

Viper is coming along nicely, a little contour putty and sand paper will fix that seam issue. I think you need to print your own decals for husker.

Welcome back to the hobby and keep them coming.

Cheers Ozz

As I say, I've been floating around for some time.

Cheers for the tip...I'l be sure to do that when I start the second MKII Viper.

BTW...Really impressed with the cockpit for yours.

Definitely a nice set of work.

That Viper fuselage seam can be a bear, but it can be conquered

Cheers chaps!

Really appreciate the feed back. Considering the builds are over 10 years old and still looking good. If I do say so my self.

Is there a particular type of putty that would work well?

I'll post some pics up of the MKVII Viper once the principle build and base coats are finished.

Everything looks great. Excellent job on that old x-wing. Those kits weren't known for their fit and accuracy.

I'll admit, the X-wing was pretty tricky and fiddly.

I've also built over the years the AMT Ertl range of Enterprise D, USS Reliant and Deep Space 9....though these have deteriorated beyond repair. All done in my teens.

Re: Colonial Viper's MKII & MK VII and other past projects

So the principle build for the MK VII Viper is complete

Last night I decided to apply the markings ready for weathering and battle damage.

I decided to buck the norm with this one and went for Lt. Louanne "Kat" Katraine instead of the normal choice of Starbuck or Apollo.

Next few images when I get round to it will be battle damage and weathering. May go a light on this for the MK VII. not sure yet.

Cheers chap!

Not too sure how in depth of weathering to go....may be just light effects and general soot / carbon scoring across the hull.
