Siskel and Ebert: Memphis Belle

one of the comments this guy made really gets my attention, he comments on how he does not like how some of those shots in the video are so close up! i think it adds to the video, i mean it would show the audience how cramped it was in one of those bombers, and its kind of hard to get a good shot inside of a bomber with one of those massive 1990s video cameras... not exactly a easy task.

this also could be a inspiration for some of you guys out there building model airplanes.
 
I miss those guys, they did great reviews before *DUM-DUM DUMMMM* the internet! But as to the film, it's typical poopish Hollywood history. It didn't happen like that. Some of those things did happen, but not all on the Memphis Belle's final mission before home. The best thing about that film, is the SFX. It really steals from the bravery of the men when Hollywood 'fixes' history. This film is about as accurate as 'U-571' and 'Pearl Harbor'. A much better history of the plane is in this book. "Memphis Belle: Biography of a B-17"
