I just wanted to give a little update on my Skyraider build. I am amazed at everyone's swift building habits! Some of you guys certainly don't eat or sleep! It is so much fun to see the dedication and talent on some of these projects. Thanks for the continued inspiration!
So, I've finished the major camo painting on the fuselage, wing and some of the ordnance. The R-3350 is done and in it's cowl.
I'm currently doing some minor chipping on the usual places like hatches, wing walkways, leading edges, etc. The Air Force land based planes had more wear and tear than the ship bound aircraft.
Next will be a couple coats of clear in preparation of decals, panel lines, oil and some minor "dirtying up". This concerns me as I don't want to ruin the overall appearance of a slightly weathered used aircraft. Fingers crossed. Advise welcomed!
The plan is to pose it "bombed up", flaps down, canopy open and ready for a mission.
I'll post some more updates in a year or two as work progresses! (Ha Ha!)
