Name of Build: Konigsluther
Kit manufacturer: Fantasy Flight Games
Scale: 1/48th
Description
This "Weird War II" model for the games Dust Warfare began it's life as a mass-produced, pre-built plastic kit. First step was the break it down in order to build it back up better and fill and sand any seams.
For this build, I wanted to see if it was possible to do a double hairspray technique, meaning one coat over another coat using the hairspray chipping method twice. The base was a mix of Tamiya Red Brown with spots of orange in places. The model was then coated with hairspray and my own custom mix of Panzer Gray was airbrushed. This coat was removed in places using warm water and toothpicks. Then after applying a safety coat of varnish, the second coat of hairspray was applied, followed by Tamiya White. Again, this layer was removed partially using warm water and a short bristle brush and toothpicks. The kit was finished off with a few light coats of MIG enamel washes.
