More fiddly parts!
Starting to work on the gas tank..that no one will ever see..as well as the clutch..all will be hidden by body work.
The gas tank needs lead wire around the seams...at least ill know it looks like a welded tank.
A d the motor for the most part will be seen with both bonnet open.

Worked most of the day on it..still waiting on nuts and bolts for the motor..and the ignition wire.
Weathered up the tank..added nuts and bolts to the frame..built the radiator.
And ordered a whole bunch of better tools..bending the tubes and working with the pe..at this level my old stuff doesn't cut it.

I bought precision needle nose pliers and a bending jig for the pe. .more micro drill bits..a stepped roller for making hose clamps..those are a pain.
Still waiting for the ultrasonic cutter.

And still waiting for all the nuts and bolts..they're coming from florida..but they use the postal service for shipping..which is the worst..might as well send them by conestoga wagon

Its too bad the tariffs are so nuts..a lot of stuff i need only comes from Europe.
6 bucks in parts..20 bucks in shipping.
At least model motor cars is based in florida..all the nuts and bolts you need.
Yup......have had to deal with that several times already.

Well..waited 10 days for the nuts to come in..all 60 of them..and they are too big...scrapping putting these on the motor as I cant wait another 10 days for smaller ones..its stalling the whole build.
The ignition wires look good and painting the front of the frame is coming out good..as well as the radiator. The little black band is had to make from microscopic leather..guess it was a cushion fir the hood..

Nice! Those pliers are awesome... I've had mine for several years and they come in handy not just for bending, but also for 'forceful' placement of a part that would just fly off with tweezers; the edges of mine aren't perfectly parallel, so I keep that in mind if l'm bending across the mouth... and I've used tape on outside of jaws to register duplicate repeat bends on multiple parts.
If you haven't used those micro bits, be aware that the smallest ones are super delicate, especially to torsion and the least amount of lateral force, while you are drilling, so you can end up with a snapped tip embedded in your part.

Lovin' all of the details going on in this build up. From what I gather.....there's a good amount of aftermarket for this car. I've seen a couple built up and there's a lot of opportunity to deck 'em out like what you're doing here.

I haven't seem much for this particular one.
Where have you seen it?
I've been trying to just buy what I can off Model motor cars..like nuts and bolts..takes 2 weeks to get the stuff.
I did get the body bolts to safety wire the whole thing..had to get it from Spain...

Its just for texture..then rust over it.
Sorry but can you explain? I typically use Tamiya putty and will thin it for puttying purposes. I'm assuming you thin this the same way and apply with a brush? Kind of speckle it on?

Just arrived on my porch..these should help with scratch building...good for cutting rod and styrene very precise
Also for drilling
