I've had this MS 406 kit since the early 90s and took it from the stash to build. I'm not even sure if I bought it or won it in a raffle. It's not something I'd normally scout the hobby shops for when this kit graced the shelves. 
Anyway, It looked like an easy project; a weekend build. I had fully intended to build it straight out of the box. That was the plan.
Upon looking at the chunky cockpit parts I changed my mind. I checked the aftermarket and decided against that option. I, instead, decided to go old school and use Evergreen styrene as my aftermarket.
So here I am. It's not supposed to be accurate, but I am using references so it's kinda close.
Surprisingly, there's a couple of these 406s restored and the available detail shots are in abundance on the internet.
So, I have to say, I'm enjoying the scratch building over buying a drop-in resin cockpit (which is available, but probably a month long wait to get it from overseas)
So off I go, I'll update with photos and comments as I move along to completion.
