I just received my Eduard 1/48 Fokker D.VII today and was coming here to post.

I am very pleasantly surprised on two counts about this build now.
First, I saw a video on u tube that showed this aircraft has cantilever wings, so no bracing cables, ( confirmed by your pics ), which means very little rigging to be done, just some control wires
Secondly I just opened the box and Eduard supplied stickers for the hexagonal camo for the wings! What a relief now that I won't have to paint that pattern on the wings.
I'm going to paint the box art scheme, which was what caught my eye when looking for a kit for the GB.
According to the instructions this aircraft was flown by Willem Lausch, Pasta 19, October 1918.
I'm excited, but in no rush to start building, I got my 1/16 M8 HMC going on now, plus the weather has been nice.

Look at the dual cables in the rigging...That looks tricky to reproduce!

... haha! that was actually my main reason for visiting, just to get a feel for the struts and bracing wires... Amazing number of turnbuckles as well!

That was an excellent airplane tour, guys! I was going to say on that one plane I am not painting that pattern. And pictures of those turn buckles? I almost want a plane bigger than 132nd! I can never imagine me scratch building that. Those pictures were too cool.

Already done. I'm researching the plane now and I have looked and read the instructions.

One more thing to consider, if you intend to use "stretchy" lines...

They lose tension, and might sag over time. Most of the advice I've been given is to not use it on aeroplanes, cannot say why ship builders do not say the same because most swear by EZ-Line.

I have two suitable kits in the stash. I just want to make certain I have the time to devote to them. 70 years old and I worked 70 hours last week. Sheesch. Hopefully, things will get back to normal in July.

And here is my subject. Surprise, surprise! It's Werner Voss' Fokker F.1 plus a scale figure of Werner posing with his Wanderer motorcycle.

My plan is to create a diorama of based the classic photo of Werner and his bike but pose him in front of the tripe.

And it is a Roden kit.
