Frozen Cover

Here's a little vignette I did for a future issue of Scale Model Addict Magazine.

The Miniart BA-64 is super small but falls together pretty easily and the figures are Dragon with a couple small tweaks

It's Woodland Scenics mixed with Future, make a frozen lemonade looking slush with it and apply where you want it, when it hardens, it will be solid and have that sparkle. If you want melting slush, just use more Future.

The figures are Dragon

Just trying to get this snow thing figured out dood

:p

Love seeing everyones wonderful work. Is this craftmanship or art? Personally I think it's a mix of both.
thans for sharing your works...:)

For the areas of snow that looks more slushy than the rest, is that just mixing less of the Woodland snow with future, IE a thinner mixture?

The effect of the pure snow sort of melting into the warmer/wetter dirt is excellent, and you get that semi-transparent edge to the snow.

Me thinks someone needs to do a tutorial on the snow! Hint, hint!

You know, like you've got nothing better to do right? ;D ;D ;D

Right on the money dood, and I went back and re-wet the edges with more future the next day and so on until I had the right consistency, right transition.

;)

I explain it a bit of that in a future issue of The Weathering Magazine, so lets hope it gets back on schedule, and I cover the slushy bit a little as well since I was portraying the snow that fell on the BA-64 previously now melting, days later as the body warms up on a mild and sunny day, I know you've seen exactly what I'm referring to. ;)

I wouldn't mind doing another sometime, I was thinking about making a base for the ADGZ car and it would fit a muddy, slushy street.

Adam, I don't think the grass is either.

Cool thanks for the explanation, gets the wheels turning.

The Woodland stuff is the white powder that comes in the big shaker?

I would imagine it sucks in future much like pigments do.
