Hey guys,

I just finished the camo on my Dragon Jagdtiger Henschel Production type and am wondering which wash to use. Its the dark yellow with brown and green camo. I thought I read somewhere the burnt umber works better with the German yellow color but I haven't been able to find the article.

I have a thread in the Armor forum and will post the updated photo's sometime tomorrow.

Thanks.

You'll be fine with Burnt Umber or Raw Umber ,just make sure you thin it well ,it should be more akin to dirty thinners :)

Chris.

I'd use the umbers, too, rather than black, especially if the recessed areas are areas that were visible, ie, in plain light/sight, on the 1:1 subject. I look at a full-sized object and see that many shadows or lines are really darker shades of surrounding colors, rather than black. So, for the dark yellow, the umber will look more realistic, I think, than black. I apply the same principle with light colors--folds on a white coat, for example, look better with shadows of lighter gray, and so on.

Hope that helps!
