Having gotten back in to the hobby two years ago, I have exclusively confined my builds to armor kits. Now I am branching into aviation . . . . my question is what kits makers make the best aviation kits? . . . .I know in Armor Tamiya is fairly popular along with Takom and some others. But as far as aviation who is tops? . . I have purchased some Eduard "Weekend" kits and a few Airfix kits . . . all 1/72. Looking forward to responses.

I really like the Tamiya kits. Like their armor kits they are very well engineered with good detail. I prefer the 1/48 kits.
I could not agree more . . I have never had any issues with Tamiya. And also love the 1/48 scale . . I figure Tamiya aircraft kits will be the same easy build as the armor kits are.

welli like trumperter as their kits in the big 1/32 scale give more detail an a chance to make things work

If you really like building? ZM kits top notch. Tamia you can't go wrong as everyone knows. Boatman is right. Trumpeter kits have some pretty good detail but they are larger models. HK models in my opinion are very good. I recently built their B25 and it came out incredibly good. Revell has good airplanes you just got to work at it a little bit more. Meng has some very enjoyable kits to build. As for the rest of the manufacturers? I started about 2 years ago and I haven't got to them yet but it is so much fun getting there

In my limited experience I believe Tamiya has the best, but I have only worked on Tamiya and Lindberg planes. I do have one or two trumpeter 1/32 planes I haven't cracked open yet.

Can't say that I have, until I saw some of your models then the seed was planted. It's sprouting nicely to.
I've been looking at lighting up some kits. Probably will get serious about it after my vacation.
As for the planes I believe I have a Phantom, Intruder and a WW2 Corsair. I would have to look to be sure and my stash is not available to me right now.
