The 1/350 Revell Pocketkit has been begging me to get to it for a while now so I dug in with this one....deeper than an Alabama tick!
First off, I had to slim down the sidewalls and cut out a lot of material to make room for lighting, etc.
Then this ventral turret well showed itself as a prime location for the switch! A little bit of material was removed to get it to fit just right.
Since the turrets weren't going to be where they are on the Falcon, the windows had to go somewhere!
Nice little bits of people PE from my stash will fit nicely, gazing at the stars...
But I did find a nice turret in my greeblie bin!
This is also a "smooth" plated ship, so all the mechanical bays had to be cut out...
and filled
and sanded
Found some nice PE for the engine grill details.
Also cut the engine top off so it can be a battery compartment lid.
and did some detail replacement on it...
magnets!
I've also been sanding and filing a TON of the details off...and replacing some of them with panels
Lighting!
And the first round of primer, revealing places than need more sanding and detailing...
So...naming it and color-scheming it...whew. Names:
Solar Flare
Solar Nexus
Arc Runner
Solar Pearl (if painting in semi-gloss white)
Wayward Stranger
Wayward Flare
Wayfaring Stranger
Wayfaring Flare
Mere's Flare
Color schemes....all-over semi-gloss white with small red markings? Various shades of rich blue with white trim? (a la Radiant VII) Standard Corellian gray with red and dark gray patches??
