The last installment of Batmobiels, this was a Christmas present to my daughter. So with her arms crossed and foot tapping wearing that "When are you going to get this done?" look on her face, it is underway.

BEEN wantin' to get me that one! Don't know why I ain't yet, but I ain't yet. I'll probably wait until the price goes through the roof and coulda got it at Hobby Lobby years ago for $10-$12 bucks with 40% off.

I'm gonna get the BATMOBILE though, so the price will be higher.

;)

Ah, the old daughter and the door slam problem... been there.

If you'll look, there will be either 2 or possibly 3 hinge pins in that door and if you drive those out with a hammer and screwdriver, that door will be removable. Stand it up in the garage and ask her to understand that it will go back on with an improved attitude and just WATCH how quickly the sweet will return.

The attitude starts to come back?

Show her the hammer and screwdriver.

Oh, no sir. I will NOT be accused of finishing NUTHIN'. I ain't even close yet and I still got plenty time to cram all this back in a box.

Finish a model.

How dare you.

And you made me go look up "Palantiri". This just keeps getting worse. A redneck lookin' up words like that. If that didn't put me on some watch list, nuthin' did.

And I've done some searches.

Deep searches.

Dark searches.

As you should. The DeAgastino would be perfect!

Good choice.

That, or the BanDai Perfect Grade. They've been done "normal" to DEATH.

As you now have set me upon a quest.......

Unless you get to it first

I got the 1/72 Fine Molds umpteen years ago and the 1/72 Perfect Grade BanDai a few years ago too (when it came out) already and a couple of the smaller BanDai's (original and The Force Awakens) and ain't started narry a one,

So...

Git on it! And if you're serious, you better get the BanDai soon. The price of that thing is goin' straight up. The Fine Molds is just as high, but harder to find and for the moola we're talking, stick with the BanDai. It's a better model.

In my opinion only.

If you ain't heard of 'em, here's the BanDai:

Here's the Fine Molds:

Now, the Fine Molds kit has been released under the REVELL Master Series, but is the exact Fine Molds kit which usually goes for the Fine Molds price, so if you were to go this route, get a real Fine Molds...

Again, my opinion.

Which one you gettin'?

We'll do it together. As a sorta group thing. A two man group. You and me. Fred and Ginger, Lester and Earl...

More of a team, really.

Rob.

You'll probably get on it faster than me, there is a good shop that has a good consignment section. Pulled a 1/48 B-29 out of there a couple of weeks ago.

Get it fair? These are going way up in price too, they could be had for awhile for $25 bucks. I don't have the original Monogram, but I have had one for many years.

Here's the one I got:

Keep me in mind when you find all these cheap models laying around...

Ol' Buddy...

Ol' Pal...

Rob.

Hmm... $70 ain't too bad nowadays I reckon. Looks like they've gone up quite a bit and it certainly coulda been worse huh?

Been wanting one since I started doing this again, shocked at the prices and wasn't interested in the Revell level 5.

Mr. Down Time, I been doin' this for a long time now and was really into Studio Scale stuff, so I got alotta kits, most vintage and many rare.

Alotta.

Some were big dollars even 25-30 years ago. I was having to pick up vintage kits 25 years ago for studio scale. It's one of the main reasons I mentioned in my Galactica thread that I knew I would never build a full studio one. I would need alotta more kits.

Nah.
