An exercise in painting a white Napoleonic

This is a Metal Models Napoleonic figure of a Voltigeur. I really love to paint white and it gave me an excuse to try some purple as well. The figure is a 54mm white metal kit. It was painted using all acrylics.

Well done! White, and black, are the trickiest colors to represent. Thanks for the in-progress shots, too. I see you used a light gray primer--did you do that deliberately, because of the white uniform color?
 
Wow :eek: i can see why you like to paint white, you've really nailed that technique.

Thank you. I usually use the light grey primer just to show the cleaned figure. I have also primed with black but it takes more coats to get the desired effects for me.
