My distraction project got of to a rough start, made a rookie mistake by brushing on crappy Testor's semi gloss black enamel. Finally got the body sanded and re-polished for proper painting.

Tamiya make a semi-gloss black. I airbrush with it all the time, though I use their thinner.

Sometimes Tamiya tries to lift with Masking tape, so be careful.

Try Kapton tape. I use it to mask everything, hasn't yet lifted anything.

I use Rustolium mat black, it always gos on smooth and even. Also works good for seats chassis, floors and dash board tops.
