1st of 2012-Airfix 1/48 Emil

Completely OOB. Gunz-Sangyo Mr. Hobby Aqueous paints (RLM 04/65/71), E-Z line antennae.Overall, a satisfying build. I would definitely build it again.

Things I liked about this kit: ;D
Price. (Less than $20)
Overall fit.
Colorful marking options.
Choice of deployed/retracted landing gear.
Positionable flaps/ailerons/elevators.

Things I disliked about this kit: :
Decal quality. Better than a few years ago, still too much like old Academy decals.
Sink marks in obvious places.
Heavy sprue gates on very delicate parts (UMM saw to the rescue!)
"Weighted" tires. I don't like those on a good day. No other option.
Anemic propeller.

Really nice work there. I have the trop version in the stash and it looks great. I'm with you on the decals though. On the sheet they look a bit odd to me.
