MotorMax 1:24 scale diecast 1978 Ford Bronco seems to be a strange model, a hybrid, in the marketing sense of the word. "Some diecast toys are collectibles; but not all diecast collectibles are toys". MotorMax apparently designed this Bronco to appease both collectors and toy users. It certainly has the authentic looks of a real Bronco, with proper badging, bright chrome work front and back, a decent interior and cool, slotted wheels. What makes this serve as a toy, for rough play, is its construction. I wasn't able to disassemble it for further detailing due to how it is put together so solidly. The oversize metal axles and the solid tires make it almost unbreakable. And the rear bed cover is designed to stay put even if smaller fingers try to remove it; but older collectors can easily. Only opening parts are the doors, although other verions of it might have an operable tailgate. The main reasons why I think this model is a "hybrid": sold in Wallymart in an open display box without a clear window plastic as other MotorMax models are. And the Bronco's wheels sat deep inside four rectangles cut into the box's bottom, so viewing the Bronco from the side, one half the wheels were buried. This presentation made it look like similar, cheaper metal and plastic toy trucks for sale.

Bottom line: I think it looks quite the part and I won't be manhandling it for any reasons. LOL

Thanks for looking.....
