In the uk we have rememberence day on this date do you have the same thing over in America.we all wear Poppy's well the people who show there respect for the dead
 
Yes....we celebrate Vereran's Day on this day...also the last day of WWI...

It was November 11, 2012. (It's been a terrible run of years, I refuse to go backwards. It is also Armistice Day, (not the end of WWI, but the ceasfire of WWI.) Rememberance Day, and Veterans Day. But our Veterans Day also honors all the living vets too, not just the war dead like other countries. We honor our war dead on Memorial Day the last Monday in May for and because of our Civil War.
 
the last eleven isnt for todays date bud..it is a mark of the

eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month..

and it to honour all the war dead including the pointless "war" that our boys are getting killed in now and the heroes that have got wounded in battle
 
That's what we call Armistace Day here. The cease fire of WWI. I never heard it refered to as 11.11.11.
