    Battlestar Galactica 3D print

Thank you! So it does angle down! We were discussing the bridge in this thread on here and I was wondering why the 3D printed bridge replacement piece from Shapeways has the bridge pointed down like that. Incidentally, I came across your YT channel maybe a half a year ago or whenever you had...

    Battlestar Galactica 3D print

Could you take a side-profile picture of the bridge for me, please? I want to see if it angles downward or if it sits straight. Thanks.

    New Sci-Fi kits

Thanks! I missed this in my notifications. I saw one that showed the prequel models plus a bunch of diecast stuff, none of which I care about. I'm going back to fleeting memories of when I was about 4-5 years old, as I cannot remember when we went to go see Empire Strikes Back. (It was...

Asuka Langley wearing a yellow dress Evangelion resin garage kit build

Yes, I know his website. I have no idea why his images got botched like that. If he is paying money for his own domain (like I am), I'd think he would make it a priority to get that fixed. I know I would!

    New Sci-Fi kits

This is from Round 2's booth at the Wonder Fest. MPC Black Hole kits are being repopped! Hell has frozen over. Wow. I hope the Cygnus will be cast in clear, and with extra runners to make the length accurate. Plus a 12th scale Landspeeder and a 72nd scale TIE Bomber at last! It's about time...

Asuka Langley wearing a yellow dress Evangelion resin garage kit build

I finally finished my Asuka resin kit from E2046. It did not come with eye decals, so I hand-painted them. I can't do justice to Sadamoto's signature eye style, but it's passable. I see some people who can pull off gradations and I could do that just a bit, but I cannot do the seamless blending...

1:72 Argo Nauts Y-Wing sofubi garage kit build

A few years ago, I built the resin TIE Interceptor garage kit by Argo Nauts. Here is my newest model aquisition: the sofubi Y-Wing by Argo Nauts. My friend from America came to visit Japan for a couple of weeks, and we spent a weekend together at the start of Golden Week. We scoured the...

    New Sci-Fi kits

No, you were right. They were originally MPC, then AMT, then AMT Ertyl, then Ertyl, then now back to MPC. It's all the same company now, apparently.

Pictures of model companies' HQ buildings

First up is Fine Molds. I took this photo 10 years ago. It was before I got to know the president, Mr. Suzuki. He used to know me by name, but it's been several years and maybe he's forgotten about me. He might recognize me. Anyhow, I went all the way to take a photo and some video of their HQ...

Gloss coating a gloss paint ? Is this recommended?

In this age of YouTube, there are useful tutorials on how to achieve a nice gloss finish for a car body. Just light dusting coats, going over the whole car, making sure to get the underside as that is often overlooked. At first it is tacky, just wait a few moments for it to air dry, then slowly...

    New Sci-Fi kits

I think Bandai is pretty much done with Star Wars. Their primary market is Japan, not overseas. The novelty of SW kits has worn off, and those lousy Disney+ shows are incredibly niche in a country that still has video rental stores. While Japan isn't quite as adamantly opposed to woke propaganda...

Gloss coating a gloss paint ? Is this recommended?

FWIW, I have never done what Airdave talked about. I've done a few glossy car models in my time and I only wetsand to get rid of dust particles that have landed in the paint job. I have no problem getting a clear coat to stick to a gloss paint, but then again I only do cars in lacquer paints...

    Hasegawa 1:48 P-38J

I don't know about the forum since I've only looked on there a few times while doing a web search for some information, but the current state of the magazine is a sign of the times. Heck, Scale Model Addict used to be a print magazine, right? FSM had separate magazines for armor and cars, but...

    Tamiya vending machine

I took this photo back in 2012, the year we moved back to Japan. This was in Shizuoka City, of course. I just came across this photo and thought I'd share it with you.
