Any idea what size fiber optic fits in the Bandai star destroyer pre-drilled window holes?

HI SIR well how big is that model in the pic ? as then its possible to work that out roghly but ive used 1 mm F/O an i was not impressed but to use 2mm F/O may be to big for this kit whats the scale ?

The Bandai SD is 1/5000 scale. But I wonder what size the holes are. I have no question the 1 mm or 2 mm fiber optics are too large . I know lots of people have lit their Bandai version with fiber optics. I'm wondering what size Fiber optic they used that works with the pre-drilled holes so that I don't have to drill a second time. I know I could take a wild guess. however I feel guessing is unnecessary considering that so many people have already done this.

If the holes go all the way through (they'd have to if you were inserting FO right?) then why not illuminate the interior brightly and let the reflected light leak out of them?

The look with fiber optics is completely different than the look with holes and an LED light inside the model. When you're using LEDs, you tend to have very bright spots when your eye is looking where the bulb is and dull spots when your eye is looking away from the light. With fiber optics, you have a consistent flow of light evenly throughout each window without any of the glare of the LED bulb. I know quite a lot of people have done this with their star destroyer, and I was curious what size fiber optic line those people used that have experience lighting this version up with fiber optics.

And I already have one with the LED bulbs. Time to upgrade my next one!
