    First Model in 6 years!

Welcome back into modeling! This is a great forum with a lot of people who are very supportive so it's a good, safe place to post as you've already noticed! Can't wait to see what you do with your Tamiya paint and Revell P-40!

    A Sci-Fi Diorama (1:160 scale) WIP

Great start there @Peter54! A good diorama starts with a good plan which you’ve got here. But I’m curious what will be contained therein… Can’t wait to see the WIPs start popping up over on the other side of the forum! Cheers!

AMT 1/420 USS Defiant - Completed

Nice work there @ulvdemon. Kudos on handling the horrible seam down the body of the ship. That’s some ugliness! But you can hardly see it on your build. Well done!

What do you get when you cross a ................. (Warning This thread may contain graphic images of a Kit Bash)

Dude-man-girl, this is looking really nice. I suffer from a terminal lack of vision when it comes to scratch-building so this is top-notch stuff to me. The droid slot and the upper detail pallet look just right when you put the primer on. Very nice. I’m kind of in agreement with @iandrewmartin...

    Decals

The best clear coat to use when applying decals is a GLOSS clear coat. That ensures the decals have a nice smooth surface to grab onto without trapping air bubbles underneath. The air bubbles cause silvering of the decals which makes them look less ‘real’ and out of scale. Then after the...

    Turbo Dork Paints

I like the stainless steel agitator so much that I bought a bunch of the Army Painter (?) ball bearings to add to my Vallejo paints to help distribute the pigment in the paints. I like the Vallejo Model Air paints a lot, although I find their grays - shall we say - a little finicky…

    Airbrush problem/backfeed?

So smaller diameter is for thinner paint and smaller detail. And is it also at a lower PSI the smaller you get?

    Turbo Dork Paints

Never seen them, but love the name! How did it go with them? Did you use them? What thinner did you use?

    Airbrush problem/backfeed?

Hey, guys, very informative set of posts here. Thanks so much for clarifying some of the challenges with different AB paints. On a somewhat unrelated topic, what are the benefits of the various diameter AB needles? I usually use a .5mm but just bought another AB that has .2, .3 and .5 needles...

    Star Wars Dwarf Spider Droid

I’d love to check the videos out, but I must be looking in the wrong place because I don’t see a YouTube account. I’ve been getting more into these minis but I’m delaying finishing things until I can carve out time to hand paint them. Truth be told, when I was a wee chap I only ever used hand...

    Star Wars Dwarf Spider Droid

WOW! That looks awesome! I love the base. What techniques did you use in the painting of the base and it’s weathering? Really liking this!

    Hasegawa Vanship

Looking good, BeebleBrox. Instead of stripping the paint, couldn’t you just dry brush a lighter color over the dark to bring up the brightness. I’d totally do that before stripping and starting again. But, I’m also lazy. LOL!
