Help Support Scale Model Addict:

Yep. Now, if I was doing a diorama? Then I can see going overboard on the weathering and battle damage and stuff like that. That would be cool. I am just not at that point in my building of models to where it becomes rote. I would think I need to get a whole heck of a lot better. But it's a slow process. I am just now getting to where I would like to buy some sheet styrene for simple stuff and I need something better for sanding. So I'm looking at handheld little Sanders that have different tips. Battery operated? All those darn shells for the 155 mm? Try to scrape off the seam line between the areas on the shell with an exacto knife. Pima.

I would love to answer that truthfully off the top of my head but, alas, I can't. I don't build much armor so I don't know the terminology and it's supposed to go here not there. There was some chains that support the work platform in the back that came with the kit. I still have to build I guess you would call it the tow hooks or I mean tow ropes? Tow cables? But everything came with the kit. I'm not that big into buying aftermarket although for some planes I will buy The Mask set for it you know like the b29. I don't like it when things start getting to be a p i m a. And masking is a Pima.
I'm not a big into aftermarket either. I figure I spend enough on the kit and I'm cool with oob. Occasionally I'll buy something, like my p47 I wanted to do a specific pilots plane so i ordered decals but that's unusual for me.

I just grin and have a great day when I can find a model kit that has everything in it. Masks. PE. Resin upgrades. Like that B-17 I just bought at Andy's. I've been looking in stores and hobby shops for ages. And then I went to Andy's new store and it was sitting right there. Even though he was sold out. But that's cool he does that. For, you know, customers that live around there.

All right. I have about had it with these figures. I'm going to do a little bit of touch up put the helmets on them and call it a day

I always wonder why they include a figure looking through binoculars in these heavy artillery pieces. Unless they are way up on a high piece of ground and have the ability to look down and spot their own rounds...what are they looking at?

I think it just creates the environment, I don't think it necessarily needs to be accurate to the situation.

I decided it does look pretty neat. So I will make a diorama out of it, someday soon. Until then here's some pictures and I need to crack open my next kit. Possibly a Panther Tank before the biplane build?

Nice! that all works really well.

Even without a dio, there's plenty there to tell a story!
The chains, cables and extended 'back porch' are so cool...

Great job all 'round!

That looks freaking awesome! Especially the guy with the binoculars! Haha.

Thank you guys. That brought a smile so it's all worth it:-) I had to quit and put this one aside for a bit. I was getting into the figures and the ammunition and the crates and stuff like that and just wasn't feeling it with the way the paint was turning out. I feel my models themselves are getting better and what I have to work on is the weathering and the figures. And I think that's going to come slowly the further I progress. And the beauty of this hobby is you can always take a break and come back where we left off

what I have to work on
... Don't we all!

Smart not to push it.

As we improve, our expectations rise at a steady pace, but our abilities only rise a step at a time.
The hard part is when our expectations race ahead, and our skills seem stuck on a tread, until we get up the next step!

You might not be feeling it, but from where I'm standing, it looks like you just cleared a step!
