Honda RA272... this could all go horribly wrong..

Now I've had a bash at something outside my comfort zone with a Honda motorbike, I'm trying something different again.
Yes I've done lots of cars over the years, (who hasn't?) But I've never tried to add things like plug leads, fuel lines, hoses etc.
So, im having a bash.
I mean , what can go wrong?
Started with the fuel lines. 0.6mm jewellery thread. Absolute PITA to do, but a learning experience. And drilled out the exhausts.
Trying to replicate the original...

Maybe somewhat of a challenge!
So started with fuel lines... from small acorns etc etc...?

I must say, I've never done anything so "footery" as we say in Scotland.
But immensely satisfying!
now wondering if I can make tiny cable wraps ?
Might be a stretch of ability but will have a bash at it.

Im calling the engine done. Tidied up the fuel lines. Added a throttle link to end of injector pump. And couple of hoses.
Im not going to push it. I'll only end up wrecking it!

Yes very interesting pipework! I've done a couple of F1 cars over a number of years but in 1/12 scale that was enough!

Just received delivery of some 0.3mm copper and 0.5mm wire.
Going to try some brake lines.... wish me luck chaps!

That is a beauty, looking forward to the rest of the build. Closest i have come to an F1 build is a 1953 Chevy panel truck cab mated to an F1 chassis with a 12 cyl Chevy LSX for power.

Ok. Gave in and added more plumbing to the engine. The real thing is very "busy" so trying to replicate that.
Added some pipes to the cockpit too.
Coming on. Slowly, but getting there.

Right done. 10hrs 30minutes.

I'm pleased with it , very enjoyable.
I've decided to leave off the engine cowling. Spent hours on the motor so not hiding it!

The more perceptive of you may have noticed a slight issue however. Can you tell what it is?

Thanks guys. Bit disappointed in paint finish, but stand back couple of feet it's fine.
Very pleased with engine though.

I started this kit two years ago and put it away when I attempted to spray the Tamiya specified white paint.
Unfortunately it only comes in rattle cans, and I had nothing but trouble with it.

Yours came out absolutely great! I will have to pull mine out again and regroup. Thanks!
