Translucent orange paint

They make red and amber, not orange. Wonder why.

Out of interest, what's the difference between translucent amber and translucent orange? I've always taken "amber" to be little more than an American term for "orange" that's used in certain contexts.

Amber implies a more 'brownish' tint to me mate.

"Amber" is a very imprecise color term, as real amber ranges from very pale clear yellow to opaque red-brown.
