Hornby Hobbies USA shutting down?

If you go to the Hornby Hobbies USA site, they show all items out of stock. According to my friendly neighborhood model shop (so blessed i still have one) they have fired all their USA sales reps and have not partnered with another USA distributor yet.

IMPORTANT: I am wondering if anyone has actual news or information about this. I know there might be some shop owners or distributors here. Can we avoid speculating on the cause and getting into a fight about politics? I am looking for news.

I am asking because I want the Spitfire Mk IX coming out later this year.

They still have trains and slot cars but seem to be out of model kits. They could be focusing on the more popular genres and moving away from models.

Interesting. I asked Gemini and it did not give me squat ;-).

My understanding is that they were already being managed by private equity (Phoenix Asset Management) which would explain the "accumulating debt despite increasing revenue" bit
