After completing the Kitty Hawk Pave Hawk, decided to tray another helicopter from KH, and went for the Little Bird MH-6J.
To make a diorama, will add the M1114 Humvee, a ready terrain for one side, some figures, walls...

And the diorama.
On the opposite side of the ruins, is the "ready terrain" I purchased and the pole on top of container is for the MH-6.
I still want to add some grass on the right side and need to turn the road matt.
Obviously, i have been working on this project since a few weeks and getting close to complete,

unless someone has ideas to improve.
I do have one idea, but it'll be rather difficult (or at least a ton of work) to incorporate here: angle the road relative to the sides of the base :) Dioramas look better when the elements on them aren't at right angles to the base's sides, which is mainly a suggestion to take along for your next one :)

You guys are killing me with these dioramas!

The almost cinematic experience is awesome!
The implied movement, action and atmosphere you create through poses, positioning and environment are so evocative...

Cheers!

Jakko,
I did "angle" the road a bit, but got what you said, and will do it more next time... Thanks

TBH, the angle is so small that I really didn't notice it — it just looked to be at a right angle to the side to me. Could be the perspective of the photographs throwing me off, of course.

you are right.. should have a bigger angle... too late on this one. Will do on next

It still looks good as it is, of course. I pointed it out mainly because I think that it would have looked better if the road was at more of an angle. Like you say, something to take along for the next one :)

Stunning work, Sir! I only hope to one day be able to build something even 1/8th as nice…
I do have 1 question… while I understand wanting the simpler, cleaner look on the Humvee, and I hate to make an assumption(we all know what assume really means ), but I'm guessing the Humvee is the extract vehicle for any POI/docs found on this OP. As such, wouldn't at least an M240/M60, even w/o a shield(keeping a cleaner roof) be merited? The bird has no firepower other then the operators hanging on the bench's who can really do no better then pray and spray in the event Mr Murphy shows his face and things go balls up… just my unsolicited opinion. That opinion and $3 will get you a cup of coffee

Again, Truly Stunning Work

Chris, I appreciate all comments, and even more if it helps to get more realistic scenarios.
And you are right, there could be some more firepower on the scene. When building it, I assumed it was some kind of a "safe base / depot" with only some soldiers patrolling. May add later a second Humvee such as this one?

@GCB I have to say this is a fantastic multi build diorama! I know it's been a hot minute since you posted up this build, but I just came across it today. I like the fact that the Hummer is an MP vehicle, which goes well with the K9 on scene. I would also be remise if I didn't say how outstanding the Black Hawk build in the display case is, as well as all the other aircraft on display! It's definitely some of the best military aircraft/vehicle builds I have seen. Keep up the great work, your dioramas are pretty spot on, and will only get more intense as you do more of them. ;)

Thanks Dan. Glad to hear, even so, I think the diorama is missing something.... but what?

Agree Edbert. Would be nice to build one on 1/16 scale, like the jeep Willys
