And last thing for this evening, the two underside maintenance bays

Sprayed with Tamiya AS-20 straight from the can, no primer since I wanted to keep the detail as crisp as possible and not cover up with too many paint layers

Then used thin washes of black and brown oil paints and some Vallejo black pigment powder in spots to get that grimy used look

My bubba fett is tiny and very rubbery so really difficult to clean the huge amount of flash on him. I'll give it a go but might have a look for a better quality figure. PM

You weren't joking about all of the flashing on Boba. Good thing is with his size and how far into the cockpit he sits should help with hiding some of the roughness.

Yeah the Revell figures in many of those kits from that time are rubbery, similar to micromachine figures.
The Y-Wing, the Jedi Starfighters, and Interceptors, all the Tie Fighters etc...

I tried cutting it apart and reposing in a standing version and was going to add his gun, but was not quite satisfied with how it came out and the material was a royal pain to work with as green stuff did not like to stick

Speaking of which, the Micromachine figures are a great matches size wise for the Revell Slave-1.

They are somewhere in the range of 1/74 to 1/80 which matches the Revell kits scale.

The Revell kit is in the range of 1/80 or so

I like how he has the appearance of eyes behind the goggles

Was able to get some finished over the weekend. Flashing has taken awhile to get under control. So far the warped pieces weren't to bad that glue wouldn't hold them properly. There was one small piece that seems to be missing that should be easy enough to make outta some styrene. It's a small piece that holds the part were Boba sits in the cockpit that lets it swivel depending the angle it is held. Painting will defiantly be the bear on this model, as the build is fairly simple.

Yes it is. It's interesting to see the build difference with the MPC. The console is looking great, were they water slides. The MPC has a completely different console.

Considering what you are working with it looks good. The soft plastic like that isn't nice to work with, but you've done a good job.

I agree with the paintwork being difficult. It will probably take me twice as long to get that done than the actual build. Pantherman

Nice work so far, everyone. Is it too late to get in on this? I didn't see an official start date on the front page. I have a Bandai 1/144 AT-AT lying around I can get going. I'd love to do something more involved, but all my airbrushing stuff is packed. Streaks and smudges will have to do.

Anyone here use Vallejo's chipping medium? I am working on my Y-Wing and I have an under coat of duraluminum. I put some chipping medium on the seems, so that when I paint the top coat I can chip away to the under coat.

HERE IS THE ACTUAL QUESTION…
How long can I leave it and still expect it to reactivate? I put the medium on tonight, but I probably won't paint it until tomorrow.
