This afternoon I heard something a bit out of the ordinary...

to put it in context, I live 2 miles from the airport at Ronaldsway, so I hear & see planes on approach / take off about half the month. Depending on wind direction, it's either 1 way or the other for commercial aircraft.

a much louder and lower engine sound as I happened to be near the window, just to see the back end of a Lancaster Bomber fly past straight & level much closer than the usual approach.

Pity it was gone so soon, the camera was next to the window as well 8)
 
Yup, you guys have 2 of them over there now, the one owned by the RAF and the one that is in Canada just made the trek over to do the airshow circuit over there for about a month and a half.

Probably the last time we will see 2 flying lancs ever again.
 
Apparently it was the North American one Island hopping via Iceland. It was in the papers last week, which I don't read...
