One VERY big X-wing there
And, surprisingly, it's Red 3, and not Red 5

Yes ;)

Finding the original astro will br a pain so I will buy any R2 type of the vintage collection and re do the paint sheme ;)

The R2 unit will habe lighting, the engines and the cockpit too.

I think I will use connectors to be able to plug and unplug the astro and the power cell will be in the X-wing itself with switch and recharge port hiden in a service door already on the underside of the ship ::)

I will use static and flickering LED and one of my trusty Panasonic 3.7v 4700mah I use for lightsaber as power source 8)

I think I've got just the droid ya lookin for!
you'll have to pm me ya address mym8

Some progress ;)

The 18650 will not fit so to have space and since I have not that much power consumption I will go with a smaller 18350 1200mah, like this one:

And for the engines LED I go with those one:

Quite the project you have started here. This will be impressive when completed.

Looking impressive. What is that black stuff you are using for weathering? Can't quite read it but it looks like MAT eye shadow makeup?
