Greetings nerds
Jumping back into the world of models..I have the millennium falcon cut-away kit from AMT.
I'm doing this one warts and all out of the box with a few added details. I hope to try to scratch build my first parts..there's no telling how far I will get on this.
Anyway...I have one section weathered and the interior is ready for lighting.

and of course, I just discovered the group build for the falcon. So, this goes on the back burner again for a little bit..but not before I drill all of the necessary holes for the fiber optics and LED strands I just scored.

Many thanks to Jim and Quaralane for taking a look
I have a couple more pics for the night...again I'm cheating with some craft LEDs...but here's a test fit.

Incredible job with the painting. Really nice and dirty.

really awesome weathering job. how she should look! FILTHY

With everything that I've been doing for the last couple of years, I don't know why I haven't done a Millennium Falcon sooner. I don't think I can do a clean model.
I think I may try to get the lower hull painted and the sidewalls installed this weekend. My son has volunteered his time and effort to cut a video tutorial to show you how blatantly easy it is to do these washes.
We'll see how it goes, cause I'm a much better painter than I am as a builder.....War using battle damage to hide putty lines and poor seams.

That is some excellent weathering! I also agree, the lighting will really accent the interior area.
