Workbench update (Now building Revell Ar 196 A-3)

Re: Workbench update (now building Revell 1/32 Ar 196 A-3)

Work on my Revell Ar 196 A-3 float plane continues. It's a great kit, but it requires some elbow grease in terms of filling ejector pin marks, and careful fitting. Thankful Zappa is building the same kit with me, and because he builds much faster than I do, he's been giving me tips and heads up to trouble spots.

I've almost got the interior fully painted and assembled. I still need to finish weathering the seats and building the textile seat belts. As well I need to decide what I want to do about the IP dials - I have 1/32 AirScale decals but they are far too large for the moulded bezels ...I've also started building some of the larger subassemblies.

Sorry about the lighting / picture quality - it's been a busy day...

Thanks for stopping in and taking a look.

Thanks for the positive comments N.D. I really do appreciate them.

I'm kind of stalled out on this build. My original plan was to build it for the show in Edmonton, but I've once again bit off more than I can chew at home. I was sick for three months, I'm trying to finish a University math course by correspondence, we always seem to have ongoing renovations, and last night one of our dogs pasted away unexpectedly :'( . I'm truly sapped. Taking this build to the show now is not going to happen. I'm still planning to go, but I don't think I'll enter anything.

I'll pick-up building models and modeling related stuff in the fall when I feel like it again.

Thanks again for checking in on my build.

Sorry to hear about your dog. :'( That truly sucks and you have my condolences.

The models will be there. And there will be more shows. Life happens sometimes. Great work so far though!
