Like the title says, what is your favorite scale and why? Do you think 1/48 has as much detail and subject matter as 1/35? Do you think 1/35 just takes up too much space? Is 1/72 to hard to detail?

It depends on the Topic.
Dioramas 1/35
Figures 1/3 - 1/35
Models 1/24 -1/100

I tend to like aircraft more so overall 1/48 is my favorite. My OCD side likes having fighters, bombers etc all the same scale and you can do this and get detail with 1/48. For single subjects that you really want to show off then of course 1/32.

For armor and such 1/35 allows you to really display the figures in detail with the main subject. I would like to do some 1/48 armor though.

I like trains. HO and 1/72 are close. For volume ie display something the Century Jet series 1/72 is the best. The downside is my bad eyes and clumsy fingers.

For ships I would go with 1/350 for single subjects to max detail and 1/700 for multiples.

I like to model in aircraft and sci-fi in 1:72 if possible. In my mind 1:72 has a lot going for it;

1. saves on display space
2. kits cost less
3. not bad detail with lots of after market detailing
4. you can model armor and aircraft (and some sci fi and small ships) in the same scale - answering the age old question - which is bigger a tiger II or an x-wing?
5. lots of subject to choose from

That being said I like 1:48 as an aircraft scale also. Just in general I like 1:72 better.
