As a beginner myself i really recommend the AK line, you can buy a kit for your purpose (i.e German armor , aircraft etc...) or buy individual bottles, the price is the the same and they are cheaper than the MIG.

They are really easy to use and there is a lot of demo videos on Youtube.

I also recommend the weathering magazines (http://www.ak-interactive-usa.com/books.html) i got them in digital version, they are a great source of info and not AK specific
