Trumpeter LAV-25

Thanks everyone!

Just wanted to let everyone know I am still around. I have been very busy at work with a crazy deadline and have had little time for my LAV. I have been doing a little here and there and I have actually made some progress. I have almost finished the hull. Here are some pics to prove it ;D.

I used the back of the blade technique to carve some detail into the solid looking jerry can, holder and strap.

Thanks for looking,
Dennis

Hey, did you carve out the driver periscopes? Or did they come molded hollow?

Looking good, Dennis!

They came molded in like that. They will be the last item to be done.

Unfortunately every picture I found of the LAV had a wire mesh over the grills so it had to be covered up :'(

Things have been quite busy around the McQuillen household as you can imagine. I have been tinkering with the kit here and there and all of a sudden I noticed that I had finished construction :). The stowage basket did not really come out as well as I was hoping so I just added some items to the basket to hide it. They give you some plastic screen material that when you cut it starts to instantly come apart. It was very difficult to work with. Anyway here are some pictures.
