Tatiana's Vanship - Hasegawa 1/72

Ok after much procrastination, indecision and general farting around I finally got some colour on this this thing.

I couldn't get the chipping fluid to work, went on like a dogs breakfast through the AB ... So I went back to plan C or was it D? Lol ;D

Went for the metallic red

Should come up nicely with a couple or 3 coats of gloss clear

Thanks for looking

I've never used the chipping medium... I've always stuck with the tried and true salt method. Just mix some salt with a little water and paint it on the model over the basecoat... then let it dry and paint your top coat. Let the top coat ry completely and then just wipe the salt off. Leaves a very realistic chipping effect.

Thanks for the comments , I'm happy with my final choice. On the home straight now ;D

Had a hiatus for a couple of weeks due to work etc. got some time at the bench this weekend . Some detail painting and decals on.

Thos semi circular decals under the cockpit really tested my patience  . I must say though the rest of the decals went on beautifully

Needs another coat of clear to seal the decals...... Getting there.

Thanks for looking :)

WOW, she really looks sharp!
Are you going to age her a little, or is she gonna be "Show-room fresh"?

Those mechs on the Silvana would not let her be dirty for too long. ;D

Think I can call this done ;D

Weathering was kept to a minimum with only a black pin wash.

What do you guys think??? Does it need more weathering ??

Thanks for looking 8)

Very nice! Very clean!
I think the weathering is OK, but you should take pictures from a tripod in front of a black backdrop. That should give you more definition on colours.
Is there a pilot figure in that kit? Just wondering...
Cheers,
Guido

Thanks Tailor, yes there are a couple of figures but they aren't that nicely detailed so will leave them out for now.

Thanks for the tip with the pics, might get some balck or dark grey card and give it a go. Unfortunately I don't have a tripod, took these with my ipad using the camera + app. A better result than my canon point and shoot IMO.
