Tamiya Vought F4U-1D Corsair 1/48

Well, it's getting there.
I've made a larger airfield for the diorama and bought some cheapy coconut palms that I'll hope to improve by painting them.
My plan is to have my P-38 having the starboard engine worked on. The hydraulic on the port wing of the Corsair being checked out and hopefully another Corsair with wings out ready to go for a future build. I'd like to get a 1/48 jeep too.

Nice work.

Started on pannel lines. Not very easy. I have a 20/0 round brush that fits nicely into the pannel gaps to let the wash run through. Mostly I have just been hand painting the lines.
I installed the hydraulic lines in the wheel wells.. they gave a little fuss but I managed to get them in.

Nice, it's looking really good.

Even though this kit is by Tamiya, it has been very fiddly for me.
This is the 3rd plane kit since the B-17 I have attempted. I got the 17 back in 2017 and not it's on an undetermined hold because I lost the whole sprue with the windows.
The Stuka was a reintroduction to planes
I am hoping to start my stuka in a few weeks time, looking forward to it.

I can see the finish line, unfortunately I'll have to wait until Monday when I'm back on days to continue.

This week is night duty the 13.5 hours on Saturday and Sundaytheis is how our schedule breaks down;
One week days, the following week nights plus the 27 hours for the weekend then after Monday off 6 days then start all over again.

All I think I have left for the Cosair, are a few more parts and touch-ups, then decals, some eduard figures to assemble and paint, and the moto-tug, then diorama time.

This is where I got the idea of one wing up and the other down.
I was unable to find the builders name to give credit.

Yes, he has a really nice build. I wish I were that good. By clicking the Pintrest link you can see his diorama.
Mine will be on and airfield with my P-38.
Do you know what the inner frame lime colour is? I'm looking for something like that in vallejo if possible but a Tamiya colour would be ok.

Zinc chromate. It was/is in 2 colors, green and yellow. You might try Interior Green too.
I'm using ZC yellow from an old Testors bottle on my Corsair.

My chrome pens cam in. Very pleased with the effect. Works great for lights and hydraulic pistons.
