This is a build that was started by my boss,a dn he gifted several models to me, including this M-60. The paint that is on the model and the first step was completed by him, I continued with what he has started. Enjoy.

Had the chance to work on this build some more over the last couple of days. Fun little build for my first Armor build.
Have some gaps to fill in the turret section, but it is coming along quite well.

Currently debating on which color scheme to go with. not going to spend alot of time deciding since I would like to get this done in a timely manner. I am leaning more towards a desert sand color, to go aong with a future M1A1 I have in my stash.

Not able tot ake a picture yet, but the build is more or less complete. I have to fix a broken spar on the basket on the rear of the turret. (Very annoying) it is more or less already laid out in preparation for spraying the undercoat then the desert sand! :) Was so happy with how it came along, i even started building my Academy M1A1 that I picked up when stationed in Korea 10 years ago.

Hey where were you stationed? I was at Kunsan AB 05-06. Had a blast there and still miss the food.

Camp Humphrey's from 2001 to 2002. Sorry all for being gone. Had to take a trip and fix my car. Will be back in a day or two.

Still amongst the living, honest. had the chance to do some of the painint on my Shelf Queen. Looks liek I may even finish before the 1st of November.

Just applied the first coat of the base color last night. Had an issue with using Vallejo paints, so I was able to find another applicable color from the Model master line. Hope to have pictures available soon.

Still working on this build, real life has to come first. I will have to go back and fix the rack on the back deck. Looks like when I was handling it for painting, I broke it. Now I know why people prefer the photoetch for those parts.
Finished the majority of the painting and applied glosscote to some of the surfaces. I will be applying the weathering on the 1st, so I will miss the deadline.

Pardon the images, new phone, new camera that can actual take a decent picture.

Had the chance to work on some of the decaling last night. They are so old I had to soak them in water for longer then I normally soak decals just to get them to move. Some broke apart, such as the Tow warning on the back deck and the black stripe on the barrel. While letting the decals set, I also worked a little on the tracks. I am pretty much doing this a straight OOB build, with some extras from my spares box. The tracks were weathered with some rust from the Tamiya Weathering kit and I will go over it some more in a bit.
For my first armor build ever, I think it is coming along.
Enjoy.

Coming along nicely dood.

Keep in mind, those tracks have rubber pads on each link, so those raised squares would be a worn rubber color.

Looking cool!

Thanks for the information. So far I've completed the decaling of the model and I painted the pads Vallejo black gray. Will apply a wash possibly tonight to give it a worn out look.

In the process of doing some weathering, Murphy decided to come along and say hi. Dropped the commanders cupola and snapped the machine gun barrel in half. Luckily I found the piece and I will see by tonight if I was successful in fixing it. *fingers crossed*

Fun, love it when stuff like that happens. I'm sure it can be fixed..pain in the butt but possible.

Checked on the broken barrel, it looks good. If it was real, I wouldn't be putting rounds through it, but good enough from afar. :)

Was able to apply an oil wash to turrets over the last couple of days. The pictures could look better due to the flash on my phone, so I will do the pictures over again later. Somewhat stuck on what to do next, but here is where I am at now.
