Pink Spitfire

This kit goes together pretty well. The kit has some really nice details and very few need to be rescribed. I did rescribe a few lines before sanding the the seam for the fuselage halves. The seams at the wing to the fuselage joined nicely, so just some minor clean-up from the cement oozing out. After I put a light coat of vallejo 71.302 Sky Type S under the wings I saw a lot of detail pop! I tried to drill holes inbthe gun barrels and was slightly unsuccessful. I find it is really not necessary. The barrels are slightly hidden. I have a little bit of cement clean-up on the edges and that's fine.

I've learned something today. That is, I should not try to "free-hand" camo patterns. But that's part of modeling; trying things to see what can and cannot work. I don't mind it too much as it gives it more of an "in the field" paint job.
I am kind of hesitant about adding the invasion stripes. And if I do I'm wondering should I do the top and bottom of the wing or just the bottom and a full fuselage wrap of a half? If I do them I still want to paint brush them for a more "hands on" job
Things to ponder.
I know this is not my best work, maybe it's because I have a couple of things plaguing my mind. Nothing very serious just a bit bothersome.

Well I like it. It's hard to give 100% with other things creeping into your mind.
I'm fairly lucky in that when I'm focused on my builds then nothing distracts me.

My problem is when I'm not "in the zone " all sorts of things just keep flying in there and usually end up causing me stress !!

Remember that the forum is here to help with not just building. Alot of great advice seems always available for those bothersome things. Pantherman

The Spitfire is on hold for tonight.

We had some pretty severe weather blow through with 60mph gusts, I have tree branches from my trees blown all over, especially the Pin Oak.
In just our area alone, in Cypress. There is over 600,000+ customers without power. So I'm sure Houston and our surrounding areas the outtages are quite substantial.

Keith, how did y'all fair? I hope you're OK.

Thanks. I have my fingers crossed for it to be sooner rather than later. It's already 74.5° inside which isn't awful but warmer than our normal.

Freehand is the only way I paint camo. No two are ever the same.
