Suggestion: de-junk the top of the forum

I have a laptop with a monitor 600 pixels tall. So any time I load the forum, I have to scroll down a page and a half to see anything useful at all.

It might be better to keep news and ads compact on the forum display pages and just show them full-size on the front page or something.

Well, that's why god gave us Greasemonkey, after all...

Hmmm,

when I view the site on my phone it isn't really that bad compared to other sites I visit and THAT is a tiny screen.

True I have to scroll but the Armor category isn't that far to go. ;D

Keep in mind too that you can collapse certain categories to avoid needing the scroll that section.

Click the -+ next to the category title.

I think that what he's referring to though, ist the amount of stuff loading at the top of the page.
I.e., the banner, the sponsors, etc.

True - I do understand that. At this point I am not going to redesign the page - the banners are part of my agreement with sponsors - the header will stay like this until the next version of the site comes along - which isn't on the radar at this point.
