Thought folks might be interested in my wire mesh order from http://www.mcmaster.com.
I wanted to get a selection of mesh sizes and weights for scratch building, so I researched on the site and tried to guess what might work at various scales.
I had to return my first order of 'Steel Wire Cloth' as the wire was far too thick.
My second order of 'High-Volume Particle-Filtering Stainless Steel Wire Cloth' is going to work perfectly.
Here's the selection I bought. All sheets are 12" x 12" and average out at about $4/ea. (Click for high-res images.)
54X54 Mesh, .0055" Wire Diameter
42X42 Mesh, .0055" Wire Diameter
30X30 Mesh, .0065" Wire Diameter
24X24 Mesh, .0075" Wire Diameter
20X20 Mesh, .009" Wire Diameter
18X18 Mesh, .009" Wire Diameter
16X16 Mesh, .009" Wire Diameter
And here's a comparison between the 54X54 Mesh and 16X16 Mesh
