I was looking for a reference about a model and stumbled upon this site:

Ignore the top of the page and scroll down. I am using the Chrome browser, and it offered to translate to english. It didn't do too bad of a job.

I love his blog. I browse it once a week and his work is truly skillfull. Even though everything is in japanese, the pictures speak a thousand words. I can only recommend it.
 
That's incredible. I think I've seen this before though. Is this the guy that has pdf 'bibles' of his builds. I think so.

So he's scribing the plastic and it lights up different because of the engraving?? Great effect however he does it.

Man, I'd love to learn Japanese.
 
Yeah scot, once the acryl is scribed, the surface spreads the light different than the polished parts, so it looks as if it has glowing rings. It's a really great idea, imho. :D
