Here are some photos of my recently completed Space Clipper styrene kit from Moebius Models.
I purchased a photo-etch detail set and some PAN AM aftermarket decals to complement the panel decals included with the kit.
I also added an LED lighting system which illuminates the cockpit and control panels and the passenger cabin.
The photo-etch included figures of the pilots and stewardess as well as Haywood Floyd, seated in the correct seat and the only passenger on board from what we saw on screen.

First, some scenes from the film...

Wow, what a beautiful build. I was looking at the Mobius kit the other day (a friend has it) and was lamenting the loss of my old Aurora model from years ago. I heard the airfix one is not so great.

I too built the old Aurora kit as a kid. I remember it had an atomic engine you could reveal by removing the aft section of the ship. This ship is built from the first release of the Moebius kit and is basically the same as the Aurora kit but without the engine. Moebius issued a second release of this kit where they reduced the wing thickness for a more sceen accurate look. Neither Aurora nor Moebius included a passenger or pilots cabin, neither did they include the ”brow ridge” behind the windshield which is visible in certain screen shots of the filming model. Moebius did include some nice paneling decals which adds a lot in my estimation. But Moebius didn’t include any PanAm decals (Aurora did though) which is a must have IMO. Luckily there were aftermarket PanAm decals available thru JT Graphics. I’m sure I spent more on the Paragrafix PE and the additional decals than I spent on the kit itself but it was well worth it I think.

What tha -- yeah I see there is no logo on the box-art either .
I had to go watch that scene again to make sure they were actually there :D
I guess they have to pay a licensing fee or something ?

Yes. I looked up Pan Am on Google and Eclipse Holdings of Rockville, MD paid $1.3 million for the trademark rights to the logo back in 1993.

Wonderful build. Really sharp.

Really something about the design.
Simple, workman like elegance. Right
amount of blue. I can’t put my finger on it.
No others like it.
