Hi, guys!
Thank you everyone for the great comments!
And you remember correctly, Igard & Mike, that was me bringing up the talk about this ship back when I've been working on the AAT. We've been discussing that this build was like up to the new run of the Episode I in 3D-theatres, and I answered that many of my modeling projects draw creativity from what I'm currently watching/reading/playing. There is still a promised Mass Effect models on my to-do-list we've talked about that time (however this is only if those b**tards from BioWare give us a normal ending in their DLC this summer
;D )
John, those clips from TOR are great indeed. Especially the one which is going first (but was released last - wasn't it Lucas himself btw deciding in what order to release those clips??? ;D ;D) It is like all what we love SW for is concentrated in 5 minutes!
Bizarre, exactly - this project is ectually one big kitbash as it is.
Well, for the update I have some good and bad news as it was recently with my post over the "First Mission" dio topic. And like the last time, I'll begin with the bad one .
I've decided to give up lighting on this model. The fact is that for the specific of my building it (putting parts over and over until I receive a desired look, and not even knowing for myself of what I'll get in the end - only in the very basic shapes) planning all the wiring, LED positioning and staff (the wiring especially) becomes a hell. So, I've realized for myself, that
1- If I go ahead with the lighting I'll never finish this cruiser in time for the contest's deadline
2- I anyway do switch my lighted models on only when I'm taking pics of them and rarely show to the interested guests, my gf, parents e.t.c. That's quite a very little number of times to fall off the contest for them
So, I've decided to skip the lighting. I realize, that, for a sci-fi model especially, that immediately reduces the coolness of the build. However, I'll try my best to compensate it with mind-blowing detalisation work all over the hull, and a cool stand - maximum I can go to stay within the sci-fi cat. and not be moved into the diorama one
The good news are simple - I've made some progress!! ;D
The main and rear part of the ships body start getting their shape. As you can see this is very different from the CG model, but I've tried to keep the initial sense of many hull flows.

Next stop are the engines. I want first to deal with all the basic shapes - and then go curing gaps and superdetailing.
