Well after a quick "recovery" build with the 1/144 Space Shuttle(minicraft). I am ready to began my other entry for BSC 2014, a Hasagawa SBD-3 Dauntless. I have washed the parts in soapy water. and I have begun to add photoetch to items. ill have more pictures later.

Re: SBD-3 Duantless

well the "ill take the pics tonight" thing didn't happen. But I took them this morning. I had a bit of trouble and maybe u guys can help. For this high tech model company supplied me with a cowl vent looking etch piece. And while trying to remove the plastic the cowl was given a nasty crack, as well as stress fractures. So i am currently trying to get a new cowl from hasagawa.

Here is the bad cowl

Re: SBD-3 Duantless

Looks like a lot of work going into this one.
Sorry to hear about the cowling, though

Re: SBD-3 Duantless

im sure you can fix that pretty easily. i would use tamiya extra thin cement for the hair line crack. and fix the rest with styrine

Re: SBD-3 Duantless

Yeah, that can be fixed, but it will take time and patience to do it.

Re: SBD-3 Duantless

Hi
So this week has been slow, but I got some stuff done. I contacted hasegawa about getting a new cowl. They said it will get here in about 3 weeks. But I painted the cokpit interior green. And I also painted the engine. So here is what I have so fare

thanks for looking

here is some more stuff. What i also forgot to tell you guys is the main dive bomb was damaged beyond repair. but dont worry. I had an extra 1/48 1000 pound bomb from my b-17(which was a flop) and i took some styrene and wraped it around the bomb. i also took some 500 lb bombs and put the on the aux. bomb pylons. Finally the dive flaps, ohh the dive flaps. lets just say that i donot have the proper equipment, and leave it at that. but all in all it was a fun build.

underside. *notice the bombs*

The replacment never came, so i left it cowless
