Well, first build of the year for me.
This is the new release by Roden.

I had a late start today as I found out I was missing one color so I had to run out and buy one.
So we're off to a slow start, but a start nonetheless.
Engine:
No problems with this assembly.
Part fit well.
Easy to put together.

I'm not too sure about the placement on this wire harness.

So that's as far as I got today.
Tomorrow I'll prime it and paint and move on to the next part.

Core...another nice little A/C :) engine looks nice ,look forward to the rest of the build.

Chris.

Another NA trainer. Engine looks nice. I'll be following this one.
I never built a Roden kit - are they good, i mean in general?

Thanks!
Yes, Roden makes a nice product.
I would love for them to put this kit out in 1/32 scale!

Wasn't Rodan Godzilla's part time foe then friend?

I don't know. Maybe Grendels can answer that one. He knows a lot about Godzilla and his pals.

I find Roden Styrene very soft! Not rubber soft! But soft enough you can easily damage it! So I tread with care when I work with one!

Nice and complete kits thou! Recommended !

Take care!

Nice one BS1

Hmmm, interesting.
I could swear I posted this update here last night! :-\
Oh well, better late than never!

Apologies for taking so long to post a follow up but I've been busy with health issues and work and stuff.
It's amazing how every time I want to get to the bench, several things combine to make that impossible.
IT"S A CONSPIRACY!!!!!!

Anyways, I only had time to work on the landing gear this week (and take pics tonight).
I don't like this landing gear (mainly the nose gear).

This thing is very fragile.
To the point that I almost broke it when I was trying to clean off the seam lines.

Lucky for me, SAC came to the rescue with a set of metal landing gear for this kit.

I already placed an order for two sets (I have a second T-28).

Anyways, this is the wing landing gear:

So, I'll be back with updates whenever time allows.

Happy modeling.

Sweet! Loving the detail on the gears. It's a shame the things are so fragile!

So how's this one coming along?

It's coming along slow. I've been real busy with work.
I'm lucky if I get to spend 30 minutes at the bench.

Ouch! That's rather unfortunate, but hey, I can relate. It sucks to be swamped with literally everything!

Well mate, I hope life eases up for you soon! Especially since the summer months are coming up -
perfect for rest, relaxation, and of course, modeling ;D

All the best!

Thanks but unfortunately Summer is the busiest time of the year for us at work.
I'm not complaining.
I get lots of overtime which allows me to pay for my hobby.
I figure I have 8 more years on the job and then I can retire to Texas and spend my days doing what I want.

OK, did some more work on the Trojan earlier this week.

Worked on the SAC metal landing gear.

Like I said before, these are almost (if not exact) replicas of the kit's parts.

Also worked on the flight coltrols.

And that's it for now.
More on the Trojan as time allows.

I just found out that Mike West of Lone Star Models is making the resin cockpit for this kit. So when the time comes, I will most likely stop the build until I can get my hands on that resin cockpit.

Until next time! ;D

Nice to hear you are still working at this! Glad you found some SAC landing sticks for it !

Keep up the good work!

Norm

Nah, no in box reviews.
These are old kits, they've been around for a while.
An as you said, I've been real busy putting in 12-14 hour days on the job.
I'm off today and tomorrow and I'm just exhausted.
Maybe tonight I'll put in some time at the bench.

Hey Black Sheep1, I kind of lost touch with your T-28, how far a long is it? Maybe post a pic of its current condition...

Yeah it would be too bad if you lost the Will to finish it... its such a nice Aircraft !!!

Hope you feel energized soon and get Cracking !!!

Oh no, I 'm still working on it when I find the time.
Right now I'm waiting for a few aftermarket bits and some paint and decals.
Rest assured it will be done.
