Repurposed Pickup Truck

And here it is weathered.

Primer>Red Brown>Clear>Water>Salt>Hairspray>Steel.

Adding hairspray over the salt made it a pain to remove so I won't be doing that again.

Might have been a pain but it looks wicked man.

My only thought isif you were to crush a few rust pigments into that rust color later on - randomly and not too heavy, just to give it a bit more variety in spots it might look double wicked. Don't be afraid to push even a bit more. It's really good man.

^ Agreed Scott. I did AK's rust grime and then a little lighter rust wash for variation, and it started looking really good. Will pigment when in place I think.

I chopped up the windshield/side windows single part into separate pieces, and tried the cracked effect from Ken's car article in SMA mag #3.

I also divided the back window so I could have it open a little.

Started on the cab and bed today.

- I primed, then attacked both with the dremel.
- Red brown + flat brown/white for the the rust coat.
- I brushed water into the attacked areas and then used a handheld salt grinder to place random salt on the various surfaces.
- Followed that with white for the top coat. For the final misting I add three drops of buff which made is really off white but I think it works.

After a maddening attempt to create tire chains with the bead/yarn store chain purchase, I gave up and ordered this Voyager kit off eBay.

Voyager 1:35 WWII US Jeep Willys MB Snow Plow with Tire Chains PEA185

The photos they supply are a little misleading, as it looks like you're getting a lot of PE for your money, when in fact it's just the tire chains and front plow.

Since this PE set is actually designed for Tamiya's Willys Jeep, it's actually a little smaller than I need it to be for my rubber Meng wheels.

The chain length doesn't wrap around the tire as it's supposed too, but I'm thinking I can just glue the end in place and hope that it's not noticed.

And here it is after a soaking in Blacken It.
