Pre shading with a marker.

I have read here and there people asking if using a Sharpie for pre shading was a good idea. The universal consensus is that it's a very bad idea. Well this morning I had an eureka moment. Why not use an acrylic paint marker. Off to the hobby store I went. Well let me tell you, it works like a charm.

This is what I bought.

These are wing pylons for a F-15 And the drop tank is the end result.

Can't even believe I didn't think of this before.

I have recently started using some gundam markers for detialing and touching up a bike im building and im sold.

Its quicker, cleaner and easier then masking and spraying or opening paint, thinning, brushing and then cleaning.

I would not use for large surfaces but for things like bolts and fine wires etc it is super easy, they even have a removal marker, from what i can tell just has thinner.

I would test it out, I have heard of sharpies bleeding through paint a few days later.
