This is an ancient Hobby Boss AAV, I probably bought in 2002. It's a very basic and not great kit meant for motorization. I started it way back when and shoved it into a box as I went along because it just wasn't that great. Somewhere down the line I started toying with the idea of building it up as a repurposed post-apocalyptic vehicle. Sort of Mad Max meets The Dirtzy Dozen meets The Road. The tan stuff is an acrylic anti-skid coating by Abtelung or Mig or somebody.... I decided to not limit myself to the meh kit parts and have been digging through the tote of spare model bits I've amassed over the years. More to come soon-ish.

This is the one where you were printing parts like the blades below the front bumper? The black parts you can partly see?

Are you going to motorize it or just display?

Yes, the black parts I used my 3D printer. For display only.

The ancient vinyl tracks that came with this kit disintegrated when I was trying to put them together, so I ordered some link and length tracks.

In the meantime, I couldn't help but start on my Tamiya Stug IV.....

Well, I got my HobbyBoss link and length AAV tracks, which you'd expect to fit a HobbyBoss AAV drive sprocket, but it's not that simple. It's never that simple with this MF'er lol. Will have to do some very careful trimming to get the new links to fit around the sprockets. Oy vey.

I'm looking forward to seeing this one.
I'm slowing going through my old kits +20 years in some cases... They're really not worth trying to revive... So no I have some canvases for paint testing.

But apocalyptic vehicle sound like a great idea man.
