Hey guys,

Ok, I can hear you... What does a PBR do in the armor section ??? Well, that's a fortress, a water fortress, but its green so...

Here's what keeps me busy at the moment, a Brown Water Navy PBR(Tamiya 1/35) that'll be in its element, water.

I used 2 cm thick styrofoam as a base, avilable at DIY shops, in which I cut out the Pibber shape, taking care of how I wnt the boat to properly fit (angle in the water)

Afterwards, I shaped the waves using styrofoam and plaster strips

Ten I used plaster mixed with acrylic paint to shape up the basic form of the river

I used relief putty for the wake foam

I have to change the river color, looks too green and light at the moment. I'll depict the water with clear inclusion resin.

Hi,

I'm back after spanish sunny holidays. Time for a lil update of the PBR Vietnam diorama.

Tricky but interesting work ahead : PBR integration into the Mekong resin.

The model was airbrushed with Vallejo primrs (4BO and OD shades) and drybrushed with humbrol light grey.
The antifouling was airbrushed black since it changes from the usual red. Have seen this on some pics ad found it rather cool.

The cockpit aint glued cos I got to get there later for buttons, cushions and levers painting and setting the driver fig.

On the base I worked on the boat print, integrating clear waves, to be detailed later, after the main resin pouring will have set.

Then the PBR was positionned and linked to the base using clear heavy medium gel. Took ten days to get dry !

Before pouring the resin its absolutely necessary to check the base will not be leaking for obvious reasons.

I tainted the resin with a few drops of Humbrol enamel ref 116

Although it doesn't smell, this Cristal Resin from Pebeo/Gedeo contains toluene... Make sure you wont smoke while pouring it and use it outside or open windows and keep out !

Drying in progress tonight :

Too calm a Mekong for sure ! I'll add little waves once dry.

There I am.

Right On ! ;D looking fantastic .

I think the still water looks great - I wouldn't add waves . It looks quite convincing as is .
I can hear the engine

Thank you guys !

Ok, I understand I may not add anything to the water.

Hi gents,

Here are some (way too dark) figures pics.

All of them are paintbrushed Vallejo acrylics.

The grunts completely stunned, were rescued and taken out of hell by the PBR. This is where they met the delta bluesmen !!!!
