This will be my second model build so I am going to try and take my time on this one. I just opened the box.

Nice choice Ricky!! Should build like a treat for you!! Take your time and enjoy!! ;)

love this tank one of my first builds looking forward to seeing this go through the motions

HA HA, well I do not know about seeing it through the motions considering it was a pain in my butt...lol...Overall I did like the kit, however, I did not like how the tracks went on. I had to use a lighter to get them to stick together. I think it took about 30 to 45 min just to do once side of tracks. I do love the details that are in this kit though. Here are some updated pics of the completed kit before painting.

Love the kit and the build is looking good. 1 thing i would say is try and get the "sag" on the tracks to give it a bit more realistic look. Superglue is the best thing for this. Just look at the real tank and see how the tracks sag under the weight. Looking forward to seeing the finished beast :)

The tracks gave me a hard time and the wheels are not so straight. I found some pictures and I see exactly what you are talking about with the "sag". I will try and see what I can do because you are right, it would make it look more realistic.

I'm still in the paint stage. I have already primed it and also sprayed it with black spray paint to give it shadows. All left to do is paint, add some camo and weather it. I hope it turns out nice.

Well the painting stage didn't turn out like I though and I'm not entirely satisfied with this project. I did not do a very good job on the airbrushing. While I was airbrushing, the dried primer and black paint started moving around creating a chip effect that I did not want. Well I though about just adding another coat of paint to it and the results were not great cuz the paint on the model was too thick and now I can barely move the turret. It's not all that bad but I believe I can do a better job. I just need to learn better airbrush techniques.

Looks good, you did a better job on those tracks than I did, I ended up buying metal ones after pulling my hair out with those old tracks.

HA HA John. I was about to throw this kit through a window but I got through it. The tracks were really a pain in the neck for me also.

Well here is the finished kit. I did not add any mud or weathering to it because I got frustrated with this kit for some reason. I think it looks ok but I am not really satisfied. Oh well, I will try and do better on the next one. I also need to learn to paint faces so the figures will look a lot better.

Going just bring up you opening line here Ricky!! Says it all! Your "second model"! I think this looks great for #2!! The small things come in time and practice. Adding filters and weathering to the kit....bringing the track sag down to the wheels....fig face...yeah, I still need to work on too!!...All these things you will pick up along the way! Heck, you may even work some out on this now if you wanted. All part of the fun and the learning!!

Not to mention that you started the post last week, assuming you started the kit at the same time, you flew through the build! I love to rip through a build only to take extra time in painting and weathering...these are the real fun for me!!!

Keep at it, I think you are doing a great job all around!!!

Here here! I like it, and I think it turned out good, I know how horrible this kit is to work on and having it completed on your desk is a triumph in itself.

Fantastic for your 2nd kit. I agree with what T said. Figure painting is the hard part for some of us to learn :-[

only two bud and they both look real nice...as long as you enjoy building them thats all that matters it's a learning curve as everything in life is

Thanks everyone. I did realize that I did go through this kit rather fast, and that was not my intention...lol..When I got finished with one part I just moved to the next. I am mainly looking at this kit as to show me what I could have done different or would have done different.

T is right, Ricky. This looks great for your second kit and you're only going to get better. You've got the right attitude, but don't be too hard on yourself. This is a hobby and you should have fun doing it:). Just keep getting better on each build:).
Nice work. ;D
