Just starting this scratch build of my current favorite movie vehicle. I really don't know if this is going to work out but if I get it finished it will measure about 16 inches long. I'm winging it right now so I don't have any firm plans yet as to how I'm going to build. More to come,, I hope :)

Thanks Ian, Yes Ive been following anything and everything I can find on the Bubble ship. I know Randy Cooper has a new resin kit available.

And Fantastic Plastic also

I think a scratch build will be more rewarding for me though. Its the crazy challenge and the fear that it might end up being pitched into the trash can! But it will be fun. Hope I can pull it off.

It's looking great Jake,....nice & sharp,....where did you get the transparent dome?

In the old days there would have been a mainstream kit of this out

Hi John, Got the domes from Hobby Lobby. They are Plastic Christmas tree ornaments. I'm using a 4" for the main bubble and two 3" for the engines.

Just a couple photos of my progress. Not much but its slow going. I basically build a portion an average of 5 times befor it works right or looks good enough to move on. Got the engines to iron out next. This is a real challenge!

Got some more done on the bubble ship. Used a brass rod to run horizontally through the fuselage and both engines to keep everything "straight" and lined up. Well, gotta get the engines ready so,,...... But its finally starting to look bubble-like. To me at least. Next up is skinning the backbone and adding the engines.
